It would be useful to support users pasting in a URL to a Datasette table or query without first having to add the `.json` extension themselves - since then other systems could hit that URL with `Accept: application/json` to get back the JSON representation without first needing to read the `Link: ` header from #1533 to figure out what the URL to that JSON is. (There is weird logic deep in Datasette that says that you add `.json` to the path UNLESS the table name itself ends with `.json`, in which case you add `?_format=json` - this is super-confusing). [Update: I removed that confusing feature here: [https://simonwillison.net/2022/Mar/19/weeknotes/](https://simonwillison.net/2022/Mar/19/weeknotes/)] | 107914493 | issue | {"url": "https://api.github.com/repos/simonw/datasette/issues/1534/reactions", "total_count": 0, "+1": 0, "-1": 0, "laugh": 0, "hooray": 0, "confused": 0, "heart": 0, "rocket": 0, "eyes": 0} | completed |
