435531034 MDU6SXNzdWU0MzU1MzEwMzQ= 435 Tracing support for seeing what SQL queries were executed 9599 closed 0   4305096 4 2019-04-21T17:37:37Z 2019-05-11T20:32:21Z 2019-05-11T19:07:42Z OWNER   Features like faceting, foreign key expansions and now the inspect-less index view mean Datasette can end up executing a surprisingly large number of SQL queries to render a single page. Past experience with projects like [tikbar](https://github.com/simonw/tikibar) have shown that being able to see what actually went into rendering a page can be critical for optimizing performance and generally understanding how everything works. Support a tracing mode (probably via a `?_trace=1` querystring) which adds information about what is actually going on to both the HTML and the JSON. 107914493 issue     {"url": "https://api.github.com/repos/simonw/datasette/issues/435/reactions", "total_count": 0, "+1": 0, "-1": 0, "laugh": 0, "hooray": 0, "confused": 0, "heart": 0, "rocket": 0, "eyes": 0}   completed
