It seems that datasette currently has wildcard-searches disabled by default (along with the boolean search-options, NEAR-queries and more, and despite the docs). If I try out the search-url provided in the [docs](https://datasette.readthedocs.io/en/stable/full_text_search.html#the-table-page-and-table-view-api) (https://fara.datasettes.com/fara/FARA_All_ShortForms?_search=manafort), it does not handle wildcard-searches, and I'm unable to make it work on my datasette-instance. I would argue that wildcard-searches is such a standard query, that it should be enabled by default. Requiring "_searchmode=raw" when using prefix-searches seems unnecessary. Plus: What happens to non-ascii searches when using "_searchmode=raw"? Is the "escape_fts"-function from datasette.utils ignored?
